The Gallery: 10 Techniques, One Protocol, Zero Repeated Tricks
🎨 The upgrade: one-shot-scripts v3.6.0 ships Creative Ambition rules — showcase tasks now demand multiple pieces spanning different art styles
🖼 The proof: 10 interactive art pieces below, each using a completely different rendering technique, zero overlap with any prior gallery
💡 The point: A single competent piece is never a showcase. Breadth IS the deliverable.
Why This Exists
We shipped v3.4 with art direction guidance and proved it worked with 6 interactive art pieces. Then we asked: why did the first run only produce one minimal nebula?
The answer was embarrassing. The protocol had no concept of creative ambition. It rewarded correctness but never asked "is this impressive?"
What Changed in v3.6.0
Creative Ambition
Showcase tasks must produce 3-6+ pieces spanning different art styles. One piece is never a showcase.
Gallery Research
Phase 1c now proposes 4-6 distinct techniques with visual references before building anything.
Ambition Scoring
Visual Quality is capped at 0.80 for single-piece showcase output. Breadth is measured.
Scope as Creative Decision
Rule 14 now treats "how many pieces" and "what styles" as user choices, not implementation details.
Think of it like a chef's tasting menu. A single dish can be excellent. But a showcase isn't one dish — it's ten courses, each demonstrating a different technique, a different palette, a different idea. The breadth IS the point.
The Gallery
10 interactive pieces. 10 different rendering techniques. Every one built from scratch with its own art direction, its own color palette, its own interaction model. Click, drag, or just watch.
I. Voronoi Stained Glass
II. Reaction-Diffusion
III. Aurora Borealis
IV. Spirograph Machine
V. Doom Fire
VI. Topographic Terrain
VII. Kaleidoscope
VIII. Starfield Warp
IX. Cellular Automata
X. Watercolor Bloom
The Technique Spread
No two pieces share a rendering paradigm. That's the point of the Creative Ambition upgrade — variety isn't optional for showcase tasks.
Computational Geometry
Voronoi tessellation, parametric curves, contour extraction
Simulation
Reaction-diffusion, cellular automata, fire propagation, pigment diffusion
3D Projection
Perspective-projected starfield with depth streaking
Coordinate Transform
Kaleidoscopic symmetry, noise-based aurora curtains
Every piece was verified individually with a screenshot before moving to the next. That's Rule 15 — incremental verification. A wide shot that makes everything look "fine from a distance" is how bad output ships.
